Free sources for U.K. legal materials

I added in a number of free resources to the “Legal Materials” section of the United Kingdom entry.  Highlights include:

  • legislation.uk.gov, the new official source for U.K. legislation from 1295 to the present.   This site is scheduled to replace the Statute Law Database when all the contents have been moved over.
  • LawCite, a free case citator, from the Free Access to Law Movement.
  • The Official Documents page posted by The Stationary Office.  The Official Documents page provides the full text of Command Papers and House of Commons Papers going back many years.   I deleted the sentence saying I didn’t know of any place to get Command papers online.

  1. Mike W. says:

I noticed the link under your Foreign Patent Offices to the British Library was dead. I liked that one best. This WIPO page came in a close second in my opinion. But if you happen to find where the British Library one is, I’d love to find out. Not sure why they would just do away with it since I found it comprehensive and frequently updated. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find it!?!

    • Mike – Looks like both of the links were broken. I replaced them with links to the WIPO and USPTO lists of Foreign Patent Offices. ‘Sorry, it looks like the British Library doesn’t do its own site any longer. Andy
