Another place to find CRS Reports
Bloomberg Law has a handy collection of Congressional Research Service Reports. The collection goes back only to January 2011, but it is easy to search, and there is no charge to pull the report (once you have a Bloomberg Law … Continue reading
Central Command for Congressional Committee Info
Information related to Congressional Committees appears in several entries in the Guide (Congressional Reports, House of Representatives, etc.). I wrote up a “Committees” section for the Congress entry to serve as a single place to find all the cross-references.
Federal legislative history: emergency updates
Working in D.C. has dramatically increased my need for Federal legislative history resources, leading to an emergency rewrite for the Congressional Reports entry, as well as new entries for the United States Congressional Serial Set and the American State Papers.
New source for lobbyist disclosure info
Today I played around with the Federal government’s new lobbyist disclosure site, Ethics.Data.gov, and added it to the Lobbyists entry. More information about the site is available here and here.

HeinOnline adds Congressional Hearings
Congressional Hearings back to 1927 are now included in the U.S. Congressional Documents Collection on HeinOnline (click here for more info). Very nice if you have a subscription. I added that to the “Online Databases” section of the Congressional Hearings entry.
Week in Review: Holiday Edition
Happy holidays! I didn’t do the best job keeping track of my edits this week, but new stuff includes: District of Columbia – Judicial Branch entry — Added the Daily Washington Law Reporter’s Opinions on Demand Service as a source for D.C. Superior Court Decisions … Continue reading
Section added on Popular Names
I just added a section on “Popular Names” to the United States Code entry. (I know I’m supposed to be on summer break. The Devil made me do it. Happy 4th of July! AZ)
All “Congressional” entries updated
Sally Munson sent in updates for the Congressional Resolutions and Congressional Research Service Reports entries. This marks the successful completion of a big project Sally started in March to update all of the “Congressional” entries in the guide. Thank you, … Continue reading
New articles on U.S. Code Notes and Australian legal research
I added Rick McKinney’s The Authority of Statutes Placed in Section Notes of the United States Code to the “Notes and Appendices” section of the United States Code entry and Researching Australian Law, by Nicholas Pengelley and Sue Milne, to … Continue reading
